Mitsubishi Lancer Sportback 2.4 Launched for Malaysian
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has expanded the Lancer range in our market with the Lancer Sportback 2.4 now added to the line-up sitting alongside the 2.0-litre Lancer EX and Lancer GT sedans. The new model is the first C-segment entry by any manufacturer in Malaysia to feature an engine as large as 2.4 litres.
Priced at RM132,980 inclusive of insurance, Mitsubishi hopes to put the car in the considerations of those looking to either upgrade from the C-segment or downsize from the D-segment. A limited-run (30 units) special edition Lancer Sportback LE with Ralliart accessories goes for just under RM135,000.
Powering the Lancer Sportback is the 2.4-litre version of the all-aluminium GEMA 'World Engines' whose architecture is shared with Hyundai and Chrysler. The Mitsubishi version is code-named 4B12 and features MIVEC technology, putting out 168hp @ 6,000rpm and 226Nm @ 4,100rpm. Like the Lancer sedans, the Sportback also uses the INVECS-III CVT with six virtual ratios.
The Sportback comes with a decent level of specifications and equipment. All-round independent suspension and disc brakes make for a good start. Safety kit includes Active Stability Control with Traction Control (ASC+T), ABS, EBD, BA, and dual airbags. The tyres are still the same uniquely-sized 215/45 R18 Yokohamas as given on the Lancer GT, but we have been told that a number of other tyre manufacturers are starting offer this size of tyres as well. All-New Mitsubishi ASX Now Available for Booking
October 06, 2010
Stylish compact crossover launching soon
The new ASX compact crossover from Mitsubishi Motors has been creating waves across the world. This exciting global car will reach Malaysian shores very soon. Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia, the importer and distributor of Mitsubishi Motors vehicles, has announced that it will begin collecting bookings for the ASX from 8 October onwards.
The all-new ASX compact crossover is expected to be officially launched in early November 2010.
The ASX's key concept is 'Smart-Sized'- more compact than a conventional SUV, but larger than a compact car with a higher seating position, thus striking a fine balance between the two. Passenger car handling and agility from an SUV's vantage point as well as utility are not sacrificed - the ASX offers both.
The ASX will be powered by a 2.0-litre 16-valve engine with Mitsubishi's proprietary MIVEC system. This modern DOHC power plant has 150 PS of power and 197 Nm of torque. It will be paired with an INVECS-III CVT gearbox with 6-step Sports Mode.
Equipment levels are generous. The ASX comes with standard Active Stability Control (ASC), Hill Start Assist and dual front airbags plus a driver's knee airbag. Also included are leather seats, a 2-DIN wide touch screen audio system, reverse camera, automatic air-conditioning and cruise control are luxurious extras. A full-colour LCD multi-information system in the instrument panel complete the vision of perfection.
Available in five colours, the estimated price for a fully-imported Mitsubishi ASX from Japan is RM140,000.00 (Peninsular Malaysia). For more information, please visit your nearest Mitsubishi Motors showroom, log-on to www.mitsubishi-motors.com.my or call the Mitsubishi Motors Customer Care Line at 03 7622 2202.

All-new Mitsubishi Pajero Sport For An Active Lifestyle
On the outside, Pajero Sport GL sports a black honeycomb grille (chrome bar grille for GS) and six-spoke 16" wheels (17" for GS). Inside, the cabin comes with chocolate-brown leather seats (beige for GS), and loses the faux wood inserts on the dashboard and the four-wheel-drive gear lever.
New to both model variants is a built-in reverse camera that complements the existing 2-DIN touch-screen entertainment system with DVD/CD/MP3/AAC playback ability and USB/iPod/Bluetooth connectivity. Safety equipments include dual SRS airbags, Anti-lock Braking System (ABS), Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) and front seatbelt pretensioners.
The 2.5-litre turbodiesel engine with 134 bhp at 3500 rpm and 314 Nm at 2000 rpm remains paired to a four-speed automatic with Sport Mode, which acts as a manual override. Power only goes to the rear wheels for Pajero Sport GL, and all four wheels for Pajero Sport GS.
Like its truck counterpart, the Triton, Pajero Sport GL is underpinned by a ladder frame chassis, with double-wishbone suspension at the front. But Triton’s rear leaf-spring suspension makes way for an independent three-link suspension. The brakes up front are ventilated discs and drums at the rear (disc brakes for GS).

Special Edition Lancer 2.0GTS Introduced
Mitsubishi Motors Malaysia has introduced a limited run of what's been tagged the Special Edition Lancer 2.0GTS.The car, limited to only 100 units, features a number of dress-up items, these being mostly on the exterior - there's a a rear airdam and diffuser, carbon fibre add-ons to the rear spoiler and sideskirts, as well as a new gun metal finish to the alloy wheels.
Inside, the seats feature a redesigned race-styled Nappa leather pattern, with red and orange stitching, and the gear knob gets the red stitch working as well. No change to the mechanicals, so it's more a case of merely adding on the looker treatment.
The SE Lancer is available in two colours, Red Metallic and Black Mica, and is priced at RM 123,046 on-the-road, without insurance. And if you decide that a SE is it, you get a limited-edition Ralliart jacket with that purchase. You'll find the car in all Mitsubishi Motors showrooms as of tomorrow. Friday, June 12, 2009
Production Mitsubishi i-MIEV unveiled
Essentially, the production version of the i-MiEV doesn't veer too far away from the test bed vehicles of the type. The vehicle will be powered by a high energy-density lithium-ion battery - manufactured by Lithium Energy Japan - comprised of 88 lithium-ion cells connected in series and installed under the floor in the centre of the vehicle.
The powertrain is a high-efficiency compact and lightweight permanent magnet synchronous electric motor specially developed for the vehicle, while a lightweight and compact single-speed reduction gear transmission makes up the drivetrain.
The car will come with a compact, lightweight on-board charger that allows the drive battery to be charged using a domestic 100V/200V AC line, at rates of 14hrs and 7hrs respectively for a full charge, though it can also be "quick charged" at stations which are currently being established throughout Japan, 30 mins giving an 80% charge.
It will have a single-charge range of 160km, giving it a range that will be ample for most daily commutes.
Elsewhere, it will be the first minicar and the first Mitsubishi Motors model to use LED headlamps; the rear combination lamps also use fast-illuminating LED emitters for the tail and stop lamps. To keep on the green theme, the car features the use of PBS (polybutylene succinate)-bamboo fibre Green Plastic for the tailgate interior trim. The use of PBS-bamboo fibre cuts life-cycle emissions (from extraction of raw materials to final disposal of product) of CO2 by some 10% compared with polypropylene.
Eight body colours will be available, these being three monotones (White Solid, Cool Silver Metallic and Raspberry Red Pearl, as well as the two 2-tone colour schemes that have been used to date to highlight the i-MiEV - Red Solid/White Solid and Cool Silver Metallic/White Solid.
Additionally, new two-tone schemes - White Pearl/Ocean Blue Metallic and White Pearl/Mint Green - will be offered, along with a premium colour, Cool Silver Metallic/Black Mica.

Mitsubishi Lancer GT Overview
Lancer has returned, sleeker, stronger, better. The new Lancer 2.0 GT is Mitsubishi Motors answer to all that is tired and cliche about sports sedans. Featuring a bold design surrounding a heart as agile as it is powerful, the Lancer's entrance is anything but tentative. Place your hand on the hood, and you may still hear the echoes of the rally.ENGINE AND TRANSMISSION
However you choose to drive, the pure excitement of the rally courses that gave birth to Lancer is unmistakable. It's in the hum of power rising from beneath the hood, and the exquisite smoothness of the CVT as it shifts up and down. Once Lancer has spoken to you, you'll understand.
2.0L Aluminium Block Engine
INVECS-III CVT
With CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission), Lancer offers a new level of driving enjoyment: an automatic transmission that's quiet, efficient, and eliminates the harshness and power lag of traditional gear changes. Furthermore, INVECS-III can monitor road and driving conditions to automatically determine timing, or observe driver behavior to create an intelligent profile that anticipates your every move.
Sports Mode with Paddle Shifters (2.0GT model only)
Sports Mode lets you enjoy the racing feel of changing gears with a 6-step shift control that still provides the convenience of an automatic transmission. For even greater control, paddle shifters built directly into the steering wheel make shifting as easy as a single press of your finger.
